Ink painting, or “SUMUK”, the classical genre of fine art in East Asia, has become popularized and recognized as one of the main cultural contents of Asian Art. It is a common cultural heritage of various Asian countries and is recently drawing attention in the art field.
As a preview of 2018 Jeonnam International SUMUK Biennale, the upcoming exhibition “SUMUK: Dream of Eastern Ink Painting” reveals artpieces from renowned Korean ink painting artists which guide you through the beauty of Korean SUMUK, its past, present and future.
