At a Glance: Franklin Institute signs partnership with Qing Shihuang mausoleum site museum, Universi

Philadelphia's Franklin Institute forms partnership with Emperor Qin Shihuang’s Mausoleum Site Museum in Xi’an, China The organisations' first collaboration is the exhibition “Terracotta Warriors of the First Emperor”, now at the Franklin Institute through March 4. International exchange will continue in January 2018 when a team of museum educators from Xi’an will meet with colleagues in Philadelphia. A contingent of Philadelphia colleagues will travel to China in March.

University of Michigan's Museum of Art reopens the Robert B. Jacobs Asian Art Conservation Laboratory Under the direction of Qian He, a fourth-generation art conservator trained in the orthodox Chinese Su-style craftsmanship, the lab conserves art by mounting and remounting Asian, East Asian and Western works on paper for individuals and institutions around the world.

MET receives $80 million donation The new gift from Florence Irving and her late husband Herbert Irving will support the museum's developments in departments of China, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, South Asia, and the Himalayas.
