India by the Bay: Celebrating Indian Culture

​​Co-presented by Asia Society Hong Kong Center and Teamwork, "India by the Bay" will be held on 2 - 9 February 2018 in Hong Kong. First organised in 2015, the festival aims encourage cultural exchange between the two regions and to heighten the appreciation and enjoyment of Indian art and culture in different genres, such as music, theatre, dance, food, wellness, film and literature.

India has a rich culture that cannot be experienced just through the Google images, but by watching, tasting, listening and performing different forms of art. Here are some events that will certainly defy your expectations.

Parsi Culinary Experience

Master chef Anahita Dhondy brings you the tastes of a grand Parsi Wedding Banquet in a Gala dinner at 19:30 on 2 February. Discover the history of the Parsis and their presence in Hong Kong, and try the rich and aromatic spices of this unique cuisine in a feast that reflects the roots and history of India.

Evening Chat with Bollywood’s Diva

Grab a chance to talk to Zeenat Aman, the charismatic "Indo-Western" star who broke the stereotype of an “eternally self-sacrificing” woman in typical Hindi movies at 19:00 on 3 February.

Dance Collaboration Performance

By pairing classical and contemporary movements together, the Rhythmosaic Sengupta Dance Company collaborates with Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts to present us a dance piece based on the techniques of classical Kathak and jazz at 19:00 on 9 February.

Family Day Fire up your imagination with your children and family on Family Day at 11:00 on 4 February. Children and parents could experience the fun-filled workshops in theatre, crafts, cuisine, yoga, and dance, giving children an opportunity to think out of the box and explore their creativity.
